Hey humans, it’s taken me a while. I’ve been here in northern California about ten days now, resting and removing myself from the digital world. Except for Zelda, had to get into that. Anyway I just got able to add stuff again on this computer, and The first thing I wanna mention is about traveling:

Now with the two months coast-to-coast on the buses behind me, I wanna show you what I mean by “travel light, as a rule, as a feather.” Above you see me as I arrived in Humboldt county – with that guitar and that duffel bag, all i had for two months. And I soon found even that was more than anyone could really need. Below, the contents of the bag:

Let’s go thru it shall we? Items hardly used or deemd unnecessary will be in GREEN
- 2 Green button-up shirts (1 too many), 1 White
- 2 Pair Briefs (totally useless)
- Suspenders
- 2 Pair Jeans
- 2 Pair Winter Socks
- Irish Fisherman’s Sweater (Kept rolld up thru bag handles, too big for inside)
- Sunglasses
- Rainforest Poncho
- First Aid Kit (Unused but necessary!)
- 2 Handkerchief (coulda done with 1?), 1 Sling
- 2 Journals, 1 Tour Schedule, 1 Dream Log
- Stamps, envelopes, postcards
- 2-4 Books at any given time (2-3 Too Many)
- Merch: 18 Songbooks
- Merch: 10-45 CDs
- Roll of Posters
- Toiletries Kit: Toothbrush + paste, Nail Clippers, razor cartridges (no handle), whetstone, soapbar, hair scissors
- Sewing Kit
- Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (found after dreaming of it, essential!)
- Greyhound 2-Month Discovery Pass
- Blue Hemp String
- Weighted rope (for use as grappling hook)
The big sweater was a bit of a hassle most of the time, but was crucial in places like Iowa and Fort Collins, Colorado which hit -22 degrees F while I was there. Also I started with a pair of Toms hemp slippers but forgot em in florida. Anyway, I’m not so good at writing right now. In the next few days I’ll be filling in the website tourdates for the West Coast tour with Birds Fled From Me. January 8-24ish, SoCal to Canada…
thanks, i hope you are and have been lovin those around you
Johnny
